Vigilia Examen

“The Watching Swarm”

A genus of old world human’s adapted to a life of flight. Existing all over the world, these small winged men used their elongated arms to develop wing membranes connected from the knee to four fingers. Their faces have broadened, with their eyes grown to a larger size to evolve eyesight required for an aerial lifestyle. Their nostrils expanded as well as their lungs and heart to process oxygen at a faster rate.

Bracchium-vir Souriant

“The Smiling-Forearmed Man,” is an old world human designed for a life of predation. Though with a strange twist. The long forearms of their genetically manipulated ancestors have allowed to a switch-up in their morphology. The arms and legs have swapped functions. Running on their hands and grasping with their feet. Stemming from this, they adapted a spinal structure like a sail. Aiding in the balance of their centre of gravity and allowing locomotion to be more stable and agile.

Horriblis Digitus-Hominus

“The Horrible Hand,” have surrounded themselves in a life devoted to plant-life. They extract nectar, pollinate, live within forests and cultivating grasslands into gardens. Using sharp quills in on their huge ears to catch pollen for it to travel. Developing long snouts, fingers and tongues to slurp sugars and honey from flowers. Along with this, these adaptations have allowed them to counteract the constant increasing numbers of ants and termites in their ecosystem. Allowing for another reliable source of nutrition. These creatures exist in a blissful life of peace and colour. Though their senses are attuned, they have become rather slow and sluggish.

Videntibus Montibus

The largest of all the old world humans are the ones simply referred to as the “Tree Top Grazer.”

Tentorium-Hominus

he “Hanging Man,” is a creature specialised in a unique way of attaining food. And is the reason that they garnered their name. Hanging from ceilings of roofs, caves, canopies, etc, and swaying in wait for flying animals to come into their grasp.

The Long Ones

Known by no other term, the Long Ones have laid claim to the rivers, lakes and coasts of the New World.

Hominus-Custodes

In-Tenebris

Directly descended from the Long Ones, the Cetaceals have become the rulers of Phanes’ oceans. A success story akin to whales on Earth. Different, however, due to their strange lips. Evolving to become appendages in which they can manipulate their environment.

Terrum Comedentis

The Giant Ground Terrum. A subterranean giant. Living in their underground networks in colonies in their hundreds, the Ground Terrum is cause for much natural disasters on Ordai. Their lifestyle is due to the planets heatwave events along the equator. The longest one went on for a millennium.

Homo-Paludis Stilted

The Stilted Men of the Swamp. Dwelling on an endless expanse of mangrove deltas, living a dull but peaceful existence wading through the silt and eating from both the trees and the water.

Radicata Dolorem

he Rooted Sorrow is a tragic tale. A human colony that became quickly assimilated to Phanes’ way of life. Their nerves rooted into the ground and stationarily eating flying microorganisms with their hairy bristles.

Inuentes Harvester

The Space Ticks are a colossal menace in the cosmos. Traversing from planet to planet, consuming all organic life with their proboscis and winding tendrils.

Sun-Cager

The Masters of Dark Science. The Sun-Cagers are nomadic fanatics, obssessed with remaking the universe in their image. They have chipped away their humanity over the ages and all that is left is an abomination of dark technology literally powered by flesh and blood.

Hexomorphs

Dwelling within their black hole pocket voids, the isolationist Hexomorphs live a mysterious existence. Not much is known about them. For they have little need to leave their empty homeworlds. They watch as the universe passes them by.
